Designing a bold voice for thought leadership

The key insight

To differentiate in a saturated landscape of AI thought leadership, focus was key. Rather than going broad, the opportunity was to own specific areas of AI expertise—and elevate Workday’s own thought leaders.

The bold strategy

To showcase domain expertise and AI innovation, we concepted an experience from the ground up—one that’s equal parts editorial and AI-driven. At the center is a bold new design that spotlights Workday’s visionary leaders, paired with an AI-powered module we designed to surface key insights in real time.

Person holding a tablet displaying a web page titled “Orchestrating the Future of AI in Human Resources,” featuring an article layout with images and a modern blue interface.
Smartphone displaying a webpage titled “Podcasts & Videos” with a featured video called “The Future of Work is Human-AI Collaboration,” set against a purple and peach gradient background with reflective panels.

Proving our AI expertise—by design

We concepted and designed a first-of-its-kind feature for Workday: an AI-powered module that curates the top five insights from leaders across the site—dynamically, in real time. Each insight is visually mapped back to its source, making it easy (and engaging) to explore the ideas shaping the conversation.

Push the system (just enough)

We pushed the boundaries of Workday’s design system to create something bolder, fresher, and more editorial—while still feeling unmistakably Workday. The result is a thought leadership hub with its own voice, energy, and presence—one that doesn’t just fit in, but stands out.

Built to lead the category

Rather than cover every trending topic, we emphasized depth in key verticals—like AI, HR, and Finance. These categories are highlighted visually and structurally, helping establish Workday’s authority in strategic domains.

Meet people where they are

We built the experience around rich, binge-worthy content—from deep-dive videos to thought-provoking podcasts. The design invites users to explore at their own pace, with a layout that feels more like a curated streaming platform than a typical resource hub. It’s a destination built to showcase Workday’s leadership in a way that’s dynamic, immersive, and impossible to ignore.

Takeaways for your next project

Authority through focus

Thought leadership isn’t just about sharing insights—it’s about signaling authority. We focused not on covering everything, but on owning key verticals where Workday leads the conversation.

Make AI part of the experience

We didn’t just talk about innovation—we designed it in. The AI-powered insight module helped prove that Workday doesn’t just follow trends—they set them.
